How to find the Robert Fuller Gallery
Fotherdale Farm, Thixendale, Malton YO17 9LS Tel: 01759 368 355

Fotherdale Farm nestles in a fold on the Yorkshire Wolds, half a mile outside the pretty village of Thixendale.
During exhibition times we have lots of signposts directing you to the gallery at Fotherdale Farm at most junctions, including off the A166. So look out for them!

Click here See Map of the Gallery at Fotherdale Farm
The 'map' link above will take you to Google local where you can zoom in and out of the map at Fotherdale Farm as well as printing it. You can also put in your own address for very accurate directions from your door to ours! It's very clever indeed! When you have finished looking at the map, just close the new map window. Our website will still be there behind it!

Travelling by Car

Travelling from Pocklington - approx 15 minutes

Leave Pocklington by the Mile. Follow signs for Great Givendale. Go past Great Givendale and follow the road until you reach the T-Junction onto the A166. Turn right towards Bridlington and Driffield. Take your first left signposted to Thixendale & Malton, next to the Yorkshire Water reservoir. Travel along this road for exactly 1 mile and then take first right to Thixendale. Fotherdale Farm is along this road. Continue along the single track road for just under a mile. You will start going down a narrow gulley. As you do this you will see Fotherdale Farm on your left hand side.

Travelling from York - approx 20 minutes
Take the A166 to Bridlington. Follow for approximately 12 miles. When you reach the top of Garrowby Hill, take the first left signposted to Thixendale & Malton, next to the Yorkshire Water reservoir. Travel along this road for exactly 1 mile and then take first right to Thixendale. Fotherdale Farm is along this road. Continue along the single track road for just under a mile. You will start going down a narrow gulley. As you do this you will see Fotherdale Farm on your left hand side.

Travelling from Leeds - approx 45-50 minutes
Take the A64 to York. Follow signs for A166 to Bridlington off the slip road to the Murton Roundabout. (Do not go all the way to Malton!!) Then follow directions 'travelling from York' above.

Travelling from Hull/ Beverley - approx 1hr
Either take A1079 out of Hull or Beverley and then follow the directions 'Travelling from Pocklington' above.
Or, take B1248 to Wetwang. At Wetwang turn left onto A166 in the direction of York. Ignore the turning to Thixendale in the village of Fridaythorpe (unless you prefer a scenic drive along quiet winding roads!). Ignore the second turning to Thixendale on your right. Take the third turning on your right signposted Thixendale and Malton, next to the Yorkshire Water reservoir. Travel along this road for exactly 1 mile and then take first right to Thixendale. Fotherdale Farm is along this road. Continue along the single track road for just under a mile. You will start going down a narrow gulley. As you do this you will see Fotherdale Farm on your left hand side.

Travelling from Malton - approx 20 minutes
Leave Malton in the direction of Norton. Go over the railway lines and follow road round to the left. Turn right at the mini roundabout with the pub & butchers on following the sign to Birdsall. This is 'Langton Road'. Continue along the road out of the village of Norton. Go straight over the crossroads still following the signs to Birdsall. Go through the village of Birdsall and out the other side. Take the first left to Thixendale. Follow this winding road into the village of Thixendale. Go through the village of Thixendale. At the end of the village turn right at the T-Junction signposted to Painsthorpe. Follow the road along, ignoring the two roads immediately on your left going steeply up the dale side. The road turns a corner and starts going up hill. Fotherdale Farm is the first farm you come to on the right hand side.

Travelling from the North or from the A1
You can either travel around York's north ringroad and then take the A64 to York & Leeds and then turn off onto the A166 to Bridlington. The north ring road can get very busy and there are lots of roundabouts. Or, although it is further in mileage, Victoria & I would travel down the A1 until you hit the A64 to York & then follow the 'Travelling from Leeds' directions. This is marginally quicker as it is dual carriage all the way until the A166 & much less stressful!

Travelling from the South
You can come off the M62 at Howden & follow the signs to Pocklington. Then follow the directions above 'Travelling from Pocklington'
Or, you can travel up the M1 & take the new A1/M1 link road signposted to York. Take the A64 to York & then follow the directions above for 'Travelling from Leeds.'
