WILD ART STILL ALIVE AND KICKING
The UK wildlife art market remains buoyant despite the global credit crunch, according to wildlife greeting card and limited edition print designers, Robert Fuller Gallery Ltd.
The company make the claim after holding a wildly successful exhibition of original paintings by company artist and designer Robert E Fuller.
More than 2000 people flocked to the week-long exhibition held at the gallery in Thixendale, Malton, North Yorkshire , this month (June 7 th -15 th ).
And sales of the acclaimed wildlife artist's highly-detailed original oil paintings, limited edition prints, greetings cards and bronze sculptures soared.
“We were very anxious about the credit crunch and wondered whether we should hold an exhibition at all this year,” said company director Victoria Fuller.
“But we were amazed at how well it went. It just shows that people still want to go out and buy things.”
The company pulled out all the stops to aide the exhibition's success. Alongside the art work on exhibit, there was a live falconry display organised by the gallery to highlight the artist's recent efforts to conserve barn owls in the surrounding area.
Visitors watched live barn owls swoop outside the gallery building, before going inside to see original oil paintings of the birds. And Mr Fuller threw open the doors to his studio so that visitors could see how he paints.
From tigers prowling the Indian jungle to penguins slipping on the Antarctic ice, there was something for wildlife lovers everywhere
