FEATHERED BRUSHSTROKES

An exhibition of fine art by acclaimed British wildlife artist Robert E Fuller opens on Saturday, November 15th.

The Robert Fuller Gallery, Fotherdale Farm, Thixendale, Malton, North Yorkshire , is to showcase the artist's latest collection of paintings of garden birds alongside his depictions of wildlife from around the world.

Open daily from 11am to 4.30pm , until Sunday, November 30 th , the event promises to be a ‘feathered friend extravaganza'. There will be tips on how to feed birds over the winter as well as demonstrations on how to make your own bird-feeder out of recycled materials.

Getting ready for the Christmas splurge? Spare a thought for your feathered guests and plan a course for them.

A garden bird can use up to 10pc of its body weight keeping warm in just one winter's night. Include them in your dinner party preparations by rolling a fat ball out of goose fat or popping your trimmings onto a bird table.

The Robert Fuller Gallery celebrates the common garden bird this November with an exhibition of fine art paintings alongside photographs and educational tips on how to look after our feathered garden visitors this Christmas.

Famed for his intense scrutiny of wildlife, Robert E Fuller's latest collection of highly-detailed paintings seem to expose the very soul of the creatures he depicts. Every brushstroke is made to count. Each feather, scale, glint of sunlight, is faithfully represented.

Visitors can expect to see the wildlife artist's latest oil paintings, limited-edition prints and bronze sculptures, alongside photographic displays of the birds that visit his North Yorkshire garden (some of them, unusually, birds of prey) and advice on how to entice them into their own.

There will also be live falconry displays and educational information on how to attract more birds to your garden and how to identify these visitors.

The exhibition runs daily from 11am to 4.30pm between Saturday, November 15 th to Sunday, November 30 th at the Robert Fuller Gallery, Fotherdale Farm, Thixendale, Malton, and North Yorkshire .
