These badger cubs slept curled up, entwined together for an incredible 11-hour nap! From morning through to night, they cuddled each other until it was time to head out exploring.
Watching badgers underground
Badgers have long fascinated me. I've painted them many times and photographed and filmed them at a number of setts. But to understand them better, I built a sett in my garden and hid cameras inside it. This way I had a direct view into their secret underground world so I could learn more about these mammals once they disappear into their secret chambers. It was fascinating to see how they behaved, especially the way they spent their time entwined in a circle as they slept.Â
