This barn owl chick is a fast learner. See how closely it watches mum Gylfie preen, before having a go at doing it too.
Barn owl family
This barn owl baby is the only chick of barn owl pair Gylfie & Dryer. Named 'Ace' by followers of my work, it is a character!
Now in their third breeding year, this owl pair had two eggs, but only one hatched. Occasionally Gylfie attempts to brood the egg, unaware that it will now not hatch.
This small clutch is possibly a result of the fact that it was a particularly dry spring this year, leaving the grass scorched and affecting vole populations. However, Gylfie is now around eight years old and as a rule birds are less productive as they age.

Hello Valentine, thank you for your kind comment. Yes I do indeed do commissions and owls (and elephants) are among my favourite subjects. To discuss further please email my office mail@robertefuller.com
Hi Robert
Your work is so wonderful. In every respect! I wondered if you did large scale commissions ..?
I have a wall where I’d like to hang a lovely painting or work of either owls 🦉 or elephants. Both are very special to me.
Do you have any suggestions.?
Thanks so much.

Ps. My mum lived your videos and stories. She sadly died in May and one of her favourite emails to get was yours and waiting the chicks grow and fledge.
