Hello!
This week I’ve been enjoying some last, gorgeous, sightings of Bonnie’s tawny owl chicks before they begin to spend more of their lives off camera. Also all six of Mr Kes’ chicks are now back in the nest and this amazing kestrel dad is caring for them all. Read on for the story.
Wildlife films – tawny owlets discover the world
It’s been fun watching the tawny owlets learn about the outside world, experiencing the wind, sun and rain for the first time. Soon they will be living entirely off camera. Follow this link to enjoy a last look at them.
Mr Kes defies all expectations to save chicks
After 10 days in intensive care, the three kestrel chicks I rescued from Mrs Kes’ nest returned home today. And Mr Kes is doing an amazing job taking care of all six of his babies. What a star. Watch my film of their story or see them live.
Print of the week – Puffins on lookout
Spotted any puffins yet? These comical birds visit our shores in huge numbers in summer and can be seen on coastal clifftops as they group together to breed and socialise. This painting was inspired by their annual get together.
Gift of the week – water bottles
Make days out special with these wildlife art water bottles. Designed to keep your drinks at the perfect temperature – whether you like them hot or cold – these will make your outdoor activities extra stylish.

Wildlife read – all about kestrels
Puffins are everybody’s favourite seabird and it’s not hard to see why. With their smart black and white plumage, comical walk and bright orange beaks, these small birds really stand out. Now is the time to spot them here in Yorkshire.

I now have six baby stoat kits to take care of. If you would like to support me, you can donate or join a supporter group, where you also receive access to behind the scenes stories from as little as £3 a month.
