I spent a magical evening filming a family of mute swans as they filed in to the island where they usually spend the night.
Male swan swims ahead
At around six weeks old, these swan cygnets were still fiercely protected by the adult male. Watch him flap his wings fiercely when he spots me. He does this every time and always swims ahead of the family to ensure their safety.
It won't be long before the cygnets' beautiful white feathers will grow through. In the meantime they still have their fluffy downy feathers. Watch as they follow their parents, looking stunning at sunset as they all swim in a line heading to the island they will spend the night on.
