The day after the tawny owlets fledged, a red kite tried to hunt them down.
The tawny owlets instinctively knew to stay completely still, but the red kite had already spotted them. Thankfully it was a windy day and the red kite with a massive 5ft wing span was unable to fly in through the swaying branches.
