The east coast is such a fantastic place to watch migrating birds as some arrive and others leave our shores to escape the approaching winter. I painted the above picture of a fieldfare feeding on apples last winter.
Professional birdwatcher Michael Flowers who leads our two exhibition walks to find winter migrants on the Yorkshire Wolds spotted about 300 fieldfares at Stone Creek on the River Humber this week.
