At just two weeks' of age, Jenny the kestrel's chicks try feeding themselves - and each other. But it looks like the 'food' one of them is carefully breaking into pieces is actually a pellet.
Jenny the kestrel's chick are around two weeks old and so far their parents Jenny & Jasper have been very attentive, with Jasper even taking on the role of breaking up their food and feeding them - unusual behaviour for a male. Now one of the chicks is mimicking it's parents behaviour, carefully breaking up 'food' for itself. The problem is, this isn't food. It's a pellet. Watch the gulp as it realises! The chick then goes on to 'feed' its siblings, taking great care to share out each morsel with the younger chicks.
