As storm Darragh ripped through the UK, it also took its toll on the wildlife here in Yorkshire. Watch this to see how the owls and kestrels living here in Thixendale were buffeted by the storm’s strong winds and heavy rainfall.
In weather like this barn owls cannot hunt. The rain soaks their feathers and since they rely on sound to hear their prey, the howling winds mean they can't find food. Thankfully the food I leave out helped them through. But even then these birds struggled to touch down safely and watch how their feathers were blown!
