Luna the tawny owl is now brooding a clutch of three eggs and her new partner Shadow is taking good care of her.

After her long-term partner Bomber sadly passed away, Luna paired up with a new male - Shadow. Actually an offspring from a 2024 clutch, Shadow is considerably younger than Luna.This sometimes happens with birds and I'm confident that their eggs will be viable. It’s only problematic if it repeats through the generations
Luna is now sitting on a clutch of four. These were laid on February 19th, 22nd, 25th and 28th. She began incubating as soon as the first egg egg was laid, although at this stage she takes breaks to feed and stretch her wings and leaves her eggs for up to three hours at a time.
