After spotting tawny owl Luna with a new male, I cross check our records to try to identify him.
Identifying individual owls
When Luna's long-term partner Bomber went missing, a young male tawny owl appeared in his place. This new owl was wearing a BTO identification ring, but it's difficult getting a good enough view of it to read the number. After scouring the surveillance footage, I finally catch a glimpse as the new owl leaves the nest, The image is fuzzy, but I think I can see enough of the number to be able to cross-check my records and reveal the identity of this new owl...but am I correct?
